My name is James Botte but I am also known as Phelonius Friar online and on the radio, etc. and currently live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I’m in my 50s now, but I finished two simultaneous undergraduate degrees in 2017 at Carleton University in the said same city: a B.Sc. Honours in Theoretical Physics with a Minor in Mathematics, and a B.A. Honours (with high distinction) in Women’s and Gender Studies. I am also a pilot, an inventor, and a single parent of two now adult offspring (which is one reason it took me so long to start university).
One of the main reasons why I started this blog is to provide me with a platform that supports the ability to use mathematical equations in my writing since most public platforms like WordPress and DreamWidth and such do not provide this capability.
